CALIFORNIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME PROUDLY PRESENTS 

ROCK YOUR TALENT CELEBRATION TALENT COMPETITION

UNLEASH YOUR INNER ROCK STAR FOR A GREAT CAUSE

 

If you are a  band who has ever dreamed of being a rock star, here is your chance.   Showcase your talents, be treated like a rock star, have your talent heard by music professionals, but most importantly you will be supporting the California Music Hall Of Fame’s "Music Wishes" program and helping to establish the California Music Hall Of Fame Museum.

Entry Fee:  $10.00 per entry (tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law).  The entry fee will be invoiced through PayPal. The entry fee is non-refundable and submissions are non-returnable. The entry fee includes one (1) Lifetime Membership to the California Music Hall Of Fame and you will be entered into a drawing for two (2) tickets to our Induction Ceremony and overnight hotel accommodations.

Purpose: To help establish the California Music Hall Of Fame Museum and to raise   awareness of  our "Music Wishes" Program. Our “ Music Wishes" Program”, is a grant wishing music experience open to California wounded warriors and teenage burn survivors. Our goal is to spread the healing power of music through our "Music Wishes" Program, which will give Wounded Warriors and Teenage Burn Survivors a chance to experience a musical milestone, such as attending a concert, meeting their favorite musician, purchasing an instrument, providing music lessons, having a song written about them, learning to write a song, studio recording time, attending a musical, becoming DJ at a radio station, playing at a specific venue, or even being invited on stage to play with their favorite musician/band. 

Theme Of Competition: The theme of Rock Your Talent is “Salute To Our Class Of 2020 Inductees”.  Artists will perform 1 cover song from the artists listed below. 

   

 Cover songs can be performed by either Micky Dolenz, LL Cool J, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Ben Harper, Iron Butterfly,  Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Dwight Yoakam, Jenni Rivera, the Monkees, or Cher.

 

Timeline: This competition will run from Sunday,  July 4, 2021, to Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Format: Video entry only.  Video and audio quality need to be good enough for judges to conduct informed evaluations.

Judging:  Judging will be based on a point system.

Submissions will be judged on the following criteria with points give in each category:

           Creativity

          Originality

          Melody

          Arrangement

          Overall Likeability

 

The selection of judges may include fellow musicians, music educators, people involved in the music industry, radio personalities, and others.

Awards:  The performance with the most points at the end of the competition will perform at the California Music Hall Of Fame Class Of 2020 Induction Ceremony the weekend of Saturday, November 13, 2021  in Temecula, CA.  The winner will also receive a plaque that will be hung in the museum, permanently listed on our website and, a professional photoshoot.  

 

Marketing & Promotion:

        

  1. You will be responsible for promoting their submissions via social media platforms, etc.

  2. All Artists agree to have their names, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this competition without compensation or rights to royalty.

  3. Please make sure to encourage your fans, friends, and family

  4. When posting on social media platforms, please use the hashtags #CAMHOF,

#RockYourTalent, and #CARocksTalent.

Rock  Your Talent in the subject box.

In the email body:                                         

 

  1. Your name or your group's name.

  2. Title of cover song  

  3. City and state of residence, email, and phone number.

  4. Tell us about yourself/your group.  In other words, brag about yourself/group.

  5. Tell us why you chose the particular song that you chose.

  6. Make sure to include an attachment of your performance.

  7. Please be sure to attach a photo of yourself or your group.

 

   1. There must be no vulgarities, profanities, lewd comments, racist remarks, violence, references to suicide or drug use, or clothing removed during performances.

   2. The media release must be signed by all participants and/or parents/guardians for those under 18 years of age.

   3. Absolutely NO lip-syncing.
